Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, September 1, 2003 - Labor day weekend, Kankakee Illinois hosted the American Power Boat Association's National Championships for the Outboard Performance Craft division.
WIENANDT Performance did what no other performance shop has ever done. They swept the top three spots in four the classes awarding National titles. previous resources.Optimum Power's Virtual 2-Stroke Software was used on all these classes. Mike Wienandt, owner of WPT explained: "These racing classes all have tolerances and some of these tolerances are quite close. Hence getting a power advantage is very difficult. Using Virtual 2-Stroke we could easily assess which side of the tolerances we needed for each port. Transfer ports, Boost ports and the Exhaust ports were all evaluated separately and in combinations for different cylinders. The exhaust system was also explored in great detail. Virtual 2-Stroke helped us understand these engines better than our competitors, and extract the best performance from them. We now know what the engine responds to, and what it does not. We were able to verify all this with our own in house dynamometer and then verify it on the track. R & D does not stand for Race and Destroy anymore! I want to thank all the people at OPTIMUM Power Technology for an incredible tool and all their support." To print this press release, click here for PDF format (770K).
