3/15/00 - What a Show!

PITTSBURGH, PA, March 15, 2000 - Last week’s SAE 2000 Show in Detroit was a resounding success for OPTIMUM Power Technology. SAE 2000 was an important event for OPTIMUM and it did not disappoint!

Booth traffic was very high with quality prospects whose interest and excitement in our products was rewarding. Volvo Penta, one of our Virtual 4-Stroke customers, provided a major attraction for our booth by displaying their V8 high-performance motor.

After nearly a decade of development and close collaboration with The Queen’s University of Belfast (QUB) and Professor Emeritus Gordon P. Blair, OPTIMUM is releasing Virtual 2-Stroke® and Virtual 4-Stroke® engine simulation software products. New mathematical methods coupled with the latest visualization techniques place Virtual 2-Stroke and Virtual 4-Stroke at the leading edge of current technology.

PTrAn is OPTIMUM’s combustion analysis software tool for the definitive assessment of measured pressure data. Version 2.0 offers many enhancements including graphical layout, thermal shock and drift assessment, and data conversion from other platforms and analysis of transient tests.

At SAE 2000 OPTIMUM previewed its Grand Prix Control products for advanced engine management to be released later this year (Q4 / 2000).

GP Control® is a fuel injection system for the YZ/WR 400 & 426. This system includes multiple map control for the fuel and ignition system. It includes real-time rider trim, allowing each fuel and ignition map to be adjusted via rider trim switch mounted on the handlebars.

OPTIMUM also previewed GP Control 3 map-rider selectable ignition system for the RM 250 and Honda’s RS125 and RS250 plus other models. This system includes real-time rider trim, allowing each ignition map to be adjusted via rider trim switch.
