9/9/99 - SETC Press Release

OPTIMUM Power Technology will be an exhibitor at this year’s SAE Small Engine Technology Conference & Exposition (SETC). The show runs from Tuesday, September 28th through Thursday, September 30th at the Marriott Madison West, Madison, Wisconsin.

Visit OPTIMUM at Booth #26 for a demonstration of PTrAn (powerful, easy-to-use pressure trace analysis software) and a chance to discuss, with the developers, the benefits of using this product for your engine testing applications. Release 2.0 will be available October 1999 and includes powerful new functionality. Multi-cylinder results can now be compared directly through independent control of the PTrAn graph windows. Individual cycles, measured and averaged, can be selected and displayed on the same graph. The graph can be toggled between all the PTrAn graph types such as Pressure-Volume, Mass-fraction burned, Burn rate and so forth at the press of a button. Direct conversion of DSP data will also be available. New analysis options include thermal shock and thermal drift detection.

OPTIMUM will be previewing two, soon to be released, engine simulation products, Virtual 4-Stroke and Virtual 2-Stroke®. Both products feature a versatile, user-friendly interface and establish a new benchmark for accurate internal combustion engine simulation. A partial list of features include: PC based (Windows 95/98/2000NT), multi-cylinder support, S.I. and C.I., and intuitive graphical interfaces for pre and post-processing.

Don’t miss the Keynote speech to be delivered at 10:00 AM in Ballroom D&E by Professor Gordon P. Blair CBE, Professor Emeritus of The Queen’s University of Belfast. Dr. Dermot Mackey, from OPTIMUM, will be using Virtual 4-Stroke® and Virtual 2-Stroke to illustrate the presentation.
